WENDE WILLIAMSON

Wende had never even received a massage when she decided to pursue massage therapy. She just had a feeling it was something she would be good at. With a background in art and a degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO she enrolled in and graduated from the American Institute for Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio at the turn of the century. It is this intuition and creative background that make Wende’s massage unique. She is not only able to sense what her client needs, but what feels really great to them. Wende approaches the massage like she’s tackling a project. The result is a massage that is both deeply therapeutic and profoundly relaxing.

She finds that working with the anatomy of muscles is not unlike sculpting with clay. She enjoys coaxing and persuading the body to relax and release with lots of kneading and long, deep strokes. Knowing the exact right pressure to use is a skill that inspired one of the best compliments she’s ever received. Referring to Wende’s massage, one client stated, “That was Baby Bear! Not too soft and not too hard, but juust right!”.

After nearly two decades of being a massage therapist, Wende feels that working at Sage has breathed new life into her practice. She loves working in such a healing and collaborative environment with so many incredibly gifted practitioners.

When she’s not transforming peoples’ day with her touch, Wende can be found staying busy as a wife and mother to two delightfully challenging daughters. She enjoys working on her house, digging in the dirt and planting things, making art, spending time with her friends and exploring Kansas City’s arts and entertainment.
