Happy ojas day! Ojas is pronounced "oh-jaas" rather than "oh-haas" and there isn't a national day for it, but should be. Ojas is Ayurvedic word that means vitality or health reserves. When ojas is strong, we have endurance, happiness, glowing skin and a vibrant energy. When we become over extended, we tap into this special reserve and start to feel the opposite: tired, sad, dull and weak. We can build ojas by spending time doing the things we love, not having too many goals and being with good people. Certain foods also build ojas like almonds, dates, ghee and homemade almond milk.
Pictured is an ojas drink. I used homemade almond milk, 1 date, 1 tsp vanilla and cinnamon. I blended it all up in a blender and then warmed on stove. You could add a little ghee, some shatavari or ashwagandha or your favorite fall spices!
